Zine Editor

Zine Editor

For over a year, I joined the Pedestrian Dignity project's team to support the publication of their first Civic Action Zine. As editor, I managed author/artist communications, collaborated with project co-founders and graphic designer, coordinated the selection process, and edited poetry, illustrations, and stories for a 32-page bilingual (English/español) pedestrian-focused advocacy chapbook. I also created a digital version that included all translations, contributor bios, image descriptions, and a letter from the editor.

The project included a successful month-long crowdfunding campaign, working with a woman-owned press for printing, braying Braille into all 750 copies, ensuring ADA compliance, and coming together with our small team to assemble the finished booklets.

Why We Aligned: Pedestrian Dignity is a grassroots ARTivism and advocacy project that centers the lived experience of all who move outside of cars—because they want to or need to. Their work, which also empowers and connects individuals and organizations across the country, moves us toward a more equitable, accessible, and liberated future.
